My name is Alex Moreno and I am a rising freshman at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. During high school, I was student-athlete playing soccer and baseball, a mentor, and a translator for international students. Additionally, I also participated in the National Hispanic Institute, a leadership program. Going into University, I was undeclared, but after participating in the Greenwood project this summer, and seeing all the opportunities available to me in financial services, I've realized that I want to major in economics.

My name is Miguel Gomez, and I am a rising senior at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am an Economics Major who has always had the interest to work within the financial industry. The biggest challenge that I faced through my college career was that I did not have the network and support to be introduced into that industry. I met Bevon Joseph through a colleague of mine who was a member of the Greenwood Projects Class of 2018. When I sat down to interview with Bevon, I realized that I was not the only student who was facing this problem. I am a minority who has never been exposed to the world of Financial Services.

Every internship is supposed to challenge the student. Whether it's learning new skills, redefining our career path, or learning to network across individual boundaries, internships give students the opportunity to polish our professional brand and take risks. My internship at Nasdaq this summer was the most challenging, and simultaneously the most rewarding, summer employment experience thus far.
